President Trump made the announcement Wednesday afternoon that two Navy hospital ships, Mercy and USNS Comfort would deploy a place to assist with the response to the virus.

Comfort actually receiving treatment in Norfolk, Virginia. Mercy is based in San Diego can be ready in a few days, according to the Navy.

The President did not announce a specific mission but the ship can go anywhere along the western coast, including Seattle, which has seen a number of cases, or can stay in southern California to support civilian medical system.

“Comfort and Mercy will not spread to patients COVID treat, but will be made available to assist with the treatment of other patients on the location of the beach where local health professionals certainly focused on a large number of cases COVID,” Lt. Rochelle Rieger , a spokesman for the Navy’s Third Fleet, said in a statement.

The Mercy carry 1,000 hospital beds, including a 80-bed intensive care and some surgical suites, today, Mercy set to leave within five day, immediately after receiving supplies and medical staff. If pressed, it can leave quickly.

Administration Trump preparing to close the border for Asylum-Seekers < p> Trump government announced on Wednesday that he plans to close the southwestern border to asylum seekers, and instead of returning them to Mexico, even if it is not their country of origin.

When asked if he was ready to close the border based on a possible threat to public health as long as President Trump replied, “The answer is yes.” He added that it would happen “soon.”

The government said it was allowed to do so under federal law that says Surgeon General can prohibit people from entering the country if there is “infectious diseases in foreign countries” that they entered from. Administration Trump tried to install a similar rule in 2018 under a different statute, but are blocked by the Supreme Court.

Under the new rules, set to be published within the next 48 hours, anyone caught entering the outside of the port-of-entry will be driven to the nearest border and returned to Mexico. The United States said it did so because “it’s important to prevent an outbreak of coronavirus in detention facilities along the border,”.

The Mexican government said that it was not aware of this plan by the administration of Trump, but that they are about the pandemic.

On Wednesday, President Trump announced that the US-Canada border will be closed to all traffic “non-essential”. The US-Mexico border remains open to all civilian traffic at this time.

Father Joe Stop Taking into people at the shelter; One Resident Tested For COVID-19

Newsom Orders Renewal Requirements For Medi-Cal; Safety Net Services

California Governor Newsom issued an executive order Wednesday to extend the period of eligibility for important safety net services, such as health care, food assistance and in-home services for vulnerable people.

“The programs are very important social safety net for families – especially during this crisis,” said Newsom. “We do not want California who rely on these services to miss them.”

The order frees the feasibility of re-determination for 90 days for California that participate in the following services:

-Cal -Medi health coverage

-CalFresh food aid < / p>

-CalWORKS

-Cash assistance to immigrants; and Support Services

-In-Home

The Navy announced Tuesday its closed Command Support Training Center in San Diego after a third sailor who had a relationship by the school tested positive for the alleged new coronavirus.

Two students and an instructor at the school, along with other sailors in the San Diego region is placed on the USS Boxer, has tested positive for the disease allegation, according to the Navy.

National City City Facilities Close To Public In response COVID-19

National City announced it was closing all city facilities to the public in an effective response to the pandemic coronavirus Wednesday.

This includes the town hall, police and fire departments, libraries, recreation centers and Martin Luther King Jr. Community center.

All the bathrooms in the city’s parks are also closed.

San Diego County, on Tuesday said it is investigating two cases of coronavirus group among 55 confirmed cases.

One of them is a group of four people who contracted COVID -19 through the deployment of the society, said Dr. Eric McDonald county epidemiology. Some individuals are active-duty service members are known to each other. Three are in the house and one in the hospital.

Other Cluster is a group of seven people who went on a ski trip to Colorado. Six were in the house and one in the hospital.

McDonald said of the 489 people in the federal quarantine MCAS Miramar, 132 had left and returned to their home countries. And just like last night, 357 are still there. There are plans to have 115 people flown Tuesday under Operarion Homeward Bound.

Only two people under quarantine in MCAS Miramar is a resident of San Diego, he said.

The mayor also directed the restaurant for a sit-in near the dining and offers take-out and delivery only.

Local Leaders Announce Creation COVID-19 Funds To Help Communities affected

A coalition of local partners announced Monday the creation of funds to help support people affected by the pandemic COVID 19th.

San Diego COVID-19 Response Community Fund will award grants to nonprofit organizations with experience supporting affected communities, especially those who are disproportionately affected by the pandemic, and the economic consequences.

The fund consists of several partners, including the San Diego area Supervisor Nathan Fletcher, San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG & E), The San Diego Foundation, United Way of San Diego County San Diego & Imperial Counties Council workers.
