On January 23, the US CDC travel notice lifted for Wuhan, China, to the highest of three levels. Pacific countries and additional Asia including Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and India are now also perform targeted screening passengers at airports.

In response to public health emergencies is ongoing, we developed (static snapshot shown above) is hosted by the Center for Science Systems and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University, to visualize and track in real cases reported time. Dashboard, the first joint public on January 22, describing the location and the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, mortality and recovery for all of the affected countries. It was developed to provide researchers, public health authorities and the general public with a user-friendly tool to track outbreaks as disclosed. Furthermore, all data is collected and displayed is made available freely, initially as google sheet, now in, along with a layer of dashboard features, which are now included in the Atlas Life ESRI.

Dashboard reported the case at the provincial level in China, the level of cities in the United States, Australia and Canada, and at the level of other countries. From January 22 to 31 throughout the collective datation and processing are managed manually. During this period the number of updates that are typically done twice a day, morning and evening (Eastern Time). As the outbreak develops, the reporting process becomes unsustainable, and on February 1, we adopted a strategy to live data stream semi-automatic. Our main data source is, an online platform that is run by members of the Chinese medical community, which aggregates local media and government reports to provide COVID-19 total cumulative cases in near real time at the provincial level in China and the level of other countries. Every 15 minutes, the number of cumulative cases updated from the DXY to all provinces in China and other countries and regions affected. For countries and regions outside mainland China (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), we found DXY cumulative number of cases which often lag other sources; Therefore we have to manually update the number of cases throughout the day when new cases are identified. To identify new cases, we monitor various twitter feeds, online news services, and direct communications sent through the dashboard. Prior to manually update the dashboard, we confirm the number of cases using regional and local health departments, namely China CDC () ,,,, Europe CDC (), the World Health Organization (), as well as health authorities and state-level city. To report cases of city level in the US, Australia, and Canada, we began to report on Feb. 1, we rely on the US, and variety. All users’ updates (outside mainland China) coordinated by the team at JHU.
